After a few years of testing, we are finally bringing the MOPARTS RACING Sprocket Racing Clutch to market. This is the infamous clutch that works with a "sprocket-like" system with T10 gears and a 12mm wide T10 belt. Find out more below!

WHAT IS INCLUDED IN THE CLUTCH SETUP

  • Ultra-light weight aluminium clutch bell/housing with a reinforced steel insert and a pre-installed SKF HK1622 bearing
  • 16 tooth front gear/sprocket (51mm)
  • 26 tooth (83mm) rear gear/sprocket
  • 22 tooth (70mm) rear gear/sprocket
  • 17 tooth (57mm) rear gear/sprocket

You can add additional parts to the clutch setup through the drop-down menu on above, such as: internals (oil seal, shims, circlips), clutch starter shoes, main clutch shoes with disc. See our appendix at the bottom of this page a summary of what is included in these additional parts.

WEIGHT
Aluminium clutch housing: 273g
Aluminium clutch housing + front sprocket: 320g

OPTIONAL PARTS

In the drop-down menu you can add the following parts:

Rings and Seals
- Clutch oil seal
- Clutch pressure spring
- External circlip
- Internal circlip
- Clutch bushing

Starter Shoes and Clutch Shoes
- A full set of starter shoes with two starter shoe springs
- A full set of clutch shoes including stock clutch springs, a clutch shoe base plate and a clutch disc

ADVANTAGES
The advantages of the MOPARTS RACING Sprocket Clutch system compared to a stock or normal clutch system with a regular belt and pulley are:
- No belt slippage
- Better acceleration and top speed, in part due to less belt slip (especially in humid or wet conditions)
- Decreased wear on the belt as the belt is set in a "timed/fixed" position, similar to a chain on a sprocket. The lack of belt slip means this belt will last a lot longer
- A clutch made out of one solid piece of aluminium. Regular clutches are made using a mold, meaning that they could crack, shatter or explode (as often is the case with the stock variomatic clutch bells)

This unique and state of the art clutch system consists of a CNC-machined clutch housing, also often referred to as clutch bell, a 51mm T10 front pulley, a T10 (12mm wide) belt and three T10 rear pulleys in the following sizes:

  • 26 tooth (83mm)
  • 22 tooth (70mm)
  • 17 tooth (57mm)

HOW ARE THE MOPARTS RACING CLUTCHES PRODUCED?
The MOPARTS RACING Sprocket Clutch  is manufactured out of one solid piece of aluminium. Original clutch bells are made using a die and mold. However, by producing them out of one solid piece of aluminium and inserting a reinforced steel ring, the structure is much stronger and there is no chance of the clutch exploding or tearing from internal cracks.

The pulley that mounts on to the backside of the clutch is press fitted as well as bolted with four M4 bolts. The bolts lay flush in the bedding of the clutch's internal housing so not to interfere with the moving starter shoes.

PLEASE READ!
You will need to source you own T10 12mm belt, as well as any clutch internals (such as rings, shims, bearing, clips, starter shoes etc.). A good belt supplier In Europe (Germany) is AgroLager - click here to see the T10 12mm wide belt selection on their site.

In order to align the internals of the clutch, as well as the gears, you may need to add additional shims in the inner housing (underneath the bearing). We provide a belt-size chart and can assist in finding a belt size (see belt chart below). Please note that this is NOT a plug & play product. It requires some fine-tuning and technical expertise, especially in regards to assembling the clutch as well as aligning the front clutch gear and rear pulley-gear. It is essential that the belt is aligned and straight. If the belt is not aligned, the gears could cut into the belt.

The following table acts as an indication for belt sizes per moped type, using the following crankshaft-to-pulley distances:

  • Ciao: 375mm
  • Citta (EC1): 415mm
  • Si: 470mm
  • Bravo: 425mm

We advise you to check the exact measurements of your crankshaft-to-pulley distances yourself to verify whether the below belt lengths match your requirements.

This calculator tool (click here) can be used to determine belt lengths.
